About Welltec
Welltec® is globally recognized as a world leading provider of multi-services covering intervention and conveyance solutions for vertical, horizontal and deviated oil and gas wells. Our services are performed around the world in offshore and onshore wells, including in hostile environments such as deepwater, subsea, Arctic conditions, extended reach, heavy oil and unconventional gas environments.

Welltec® designs, manufactures and performs services with proprietary equipment that is considerably smaller than alternatives in the industry. Due to the lightweight solution, we reduce environmental risks and leave no carbon footprint.

Areas of operations span the entire oil well life cycle across the evaluation, drilling & completion and intervention phases. Services include logging, well optimization, stimulation, increasing oil recovery, downhole water management, flow control, selective perforating, removing obstructions, clearing debris, setting straddles, opening and closing valves, nipple profile milling, sand bailing and much, much more. We are also introducing a tool portfolio to complement rig-less subsea intervention methodologies.

The story of Welltec is the story of one man’s vision that developed into a large international company within a few years. The vision transformed the way energy is produced, and today operators plan and drill their wells differently due to our revolutionary technology.

Our Commitment to the Environment
From our earliest days, we have been deeply committed to the environment. Our belief that reliability, quality, health, safety and the environment are inseparable permeates everything we do at Welltec. Our ambition is to solve important challenges facing our industry while at the same time making a broader difference in our world. We create advanced technology to transform oil and gas production methods. By reducing inefficiencies in oil and gas production, we create value for our clients from higher production levels and revenue, longer economic lives for their wells, higher reservoir recovery rates, and lower costs - all with certainty of execution. At the same time, we reduce our clients’ environmental risks, fuel consumption and carbon footprint.

We view our contribution to the environment in two ways. First, we enhance the industry’s ongoing effort to reduce emissions and environmental risks in the oil production supply chain. Second, we manage our own company in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner in many ways. As an example, we recycle our largest waste product, the metal shavings generated by our manufacturing process; shavings are cleaned and recycled into new steel.

Training and Competency-building
We value our highly-skilled personnel who develop, manufacture and operate Welltec’s sophisticated equipment and support our business. We invest in the people around the world upon whom our success is founded.

Our company policy is to hire locally and work globally. We therefore recruit locally where we operate and provide the extensive international training and competency-building sought by host countries.

Training is at the heart of our commitment to people. It is inseparable and integral to our passion for high quality, safety, health, clean technology and use of local content in countries where we operate

We train our employees across borders as part of their career development. Practical training is augmented with formal training at our Welltec Academy and external training from third parties as needed. For example, we send members of our electronics team to courses approved by the European Space Agency.

In part due to our focus on training, we are able to hire talented, motivated people who might not otherwise have attractive career opportunities. These groups include certain young graduates, unskilled workers and people from traditionally disadvantaged groups due to their race, religion, social background, gender, etc. We have also developed adult apprentice programs for skilled craftsmen.

Built to Last

We built our organization to last with cutting-edge people, processes, technology and management systems. We have grown primarily organically and have a cohesive organization. We have not had to put together clashing cultures nor retrofit and glue together incompatible processes and IT systems. Our business and risk management approach encompasses all parts of our business and is coherent.

From the beginning, we built our organization to best practices and the highest external standards. For example, we adopted practices from other industries including aerospace that also value reliability to ensure world-class manufacturing practices. We send members of our electronics assembly team to courses approved by the European Space Agency to be certified in fail-safe soldering to a standard to which we voluntarily adhere.

Our team’s training, motivation and pride in their work serve as our first line of quality control. We supplement our people’s efforts with rigorous quality control processes including our annual ISO 9001:2000 recertification in 2009.

As befits a technology organization, we use cutting-edge IT to support, optimize and secure our business. In 2006, we successfully upgraded the ERP system that we have had in place since 1999. This is a common technology platform across Welltec that will serve as a foundation for future add-ons. We are also a model site for Microsoft’s Sharepoint knowledge management system.

We utilize a common, secured network around the world that operates off Citrix software, IBM servers and Cisco routers. We can quickly set up our standard geographic IT package whenever we add a new facility anywhere around the world. Our system is redundant and we house a backup tape in a secure offsite location. We are currently taking on voluntary COBIT standards.

We recruit locally where we operate and provide extensive international training and competency-building to our employees including in management, technical skills in advanced, clean technology; and environmentally sustainable business practices. Taking you Further
The very foundation and heart of Welltec’s success is a highly-skilled and talented workforce. But talent is just the start. The Welltec Academy is an internal training center that provides theoretical and practical education in technical skills and “softer” but equally important leadership and sales skills. The purpose of the Welltec Academy is to develop and support the individual career of every Welltec employee. Therefore, Welltec education is an on-going process where even trainers also trained.

For employees whose career path focuses on delivering our services in the field, we supply a well-structured training plan that combines “on the job training” with theoretical and technical knowledge. Our field engineer courses are grouped into Basic and Advanced courses, ensuring the right progression. Additionally, we supply our field engineers with basic sales training and correct lifting methods.

For our employees who have chosen a business career path, we have generated a series of different courses, all with the purpose of perfecting their skills within sales, service delivery and general management. We have also created motivational leadership courses in order for Management to inspire their team.

All the skill ful people who produce and assemble our cutting-edge technology are also trained at the Welltec Academy. They receive work shop education that further develops their talents while gaining further insight on the distinctive Welltec way of manufacturing. Courses at Welltec Academy also include training in proper lifting as we place high priority on a healthy environment.

We create new courses continuously to ensure we take our employees further and equip them with the necessary skills to perform optimally.
