Transforming the finance department – a visible and essential role
In this role you will be given a unique possibility to make your mark as you will be asked to create a high-performance finance department from scratch. You will refer directly to the CEO and as a member of the executive committee, you will have the power and are expected to influence company-wide decisions and directions.
The mission of the finance department is to define and deliver financial reporting and to create and provide financial analyses and insight for the management team, the shareholders and the business units outside Denmark, primarily in the Nordics. You will work with the design, implementation and execution of Power BI – JET Reports, SQL Cubes/Queries. Furthermore, you will secure alignment and ensure compliance with corporate standards and legal requirements. Your role will primarily be strategic, but you will also be very much hands-on. Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Building and managing a stable, reliable, cost-effective and high-performing accounting and financial control function
- Building and managing a strong business control function, providing timely, accurate business insights, both recurrent and on demand
- Driving cost management and optimisation initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, fiscal, financial, statutory and shareholder requirements – and serving as the liaison with relevant stakeholders (authorities, financing institutions, auditors, valuation providers and shareholders)
To succeed in this role, you must be able to build up strong competences in your own organisation. A team of five to six skilled people, comprising the Finance and Accounting department, will be reporting to you, and you are expected to motivate, engage and empower them to high performance.
Strong stakeholder and people manager – change ready and change driver
You hold an MSc in Business Economics and Auditing, a BSc in Economics and Business Administration or the like. You have a proven track record of international experience in managing a finance function – preferably from a medium-sized company. Moreover, you are an experienced and creative user of ERP systems and MS Office, and you effortlessly communicate in written and spoken English. You are capable of informed, insightful and firm decision-making while being clearly focused on creating results and delivering on time. Your personality is characterised by energy and optimism and allows you to face and overcome high-pressure situations with ease. You are dedicated to encouraging people, both in your service and around you, to follow your vision. Together with your solid communication skills, these assets enable you to build good relationships and a strong network of contacts across organisational levels, stakeholders and cultures. Finally, you must be able to travel approximately four days a month.
