An opportunity is now open for a self-driven and motivated professional to join us as a Senior Fleet Group Manager in our Headquarters in Copenhagen.
As Senior Fleet Group Manager, you will be heading two fleet teams with a total of close to 30 shore based employees reporting up to you. This will consist of one fleet team in Copenhagen responsible for over 30 Maersk Line vessels trading internationally and one full shipmanagement setup in Brazil responsible for 8 Aliança vessels trading in Brazil.
You will have the opportunity to be responsible for teams managing vessels that are at the forefront of the latest vessel designs in terms of technology, efficiency and size, including the largest container vessels in the world.

Reporting directly to the Head of Fleet Operations, your core responsibilities will be delivering second to none service to our customers. You will lead your teams in a way that enables safe, reliable, energy efficient and cost effective ship management for the vessels under Fleet Operations responsibility, fully aligned with our company’s Core Values.
You will use your strong leadership skills to coach and mentor your direct reports in the fleet group, ensuring their development & training while setting high standards of performance and ensuring a seamless collaboration between sea and shore.
You will use your excellent networking and inter-personal skills to collaborate with key stakeholders in other key Maersk Line functions and in the industry to spearhead the implementation of innovative methodologies and technologies to lift the bar higher in the sphere of ship management.
You will act as a support to Head of Fleet Operations, working closely together to improve operations of the entire fleet through our various offices worldwide, while engaging yourself with helping to shape future direction and ambitions for the function.
The ideal candidate has had extensive experience leading multicultural teams in an operational environment, is focused on delivering results and is able to maintain control in stressful situations.
Previous experience in senior roles within the ship management sphere is an advantage as is having had exposure to operational or managerial aspects concerning container vessels.
Excellent communication skills are a must and the ideal candidate must be able to motivate and lead equally well in proximity and across a distance.
