You influence and manage a substantial budget 
LM Wind Power is growing, and the need for better, more cost effective solutions for transporting and storing blades is increasing. The Senior Manager contributes to a yearly spend of ca. MEUR 40-65 and has the responsibility to lead the Transport solutions area in LM globally. This covers equipment development projects as well as operational, maintenance and support tasks for transport frames solutions and logistics externally. We are riding a growth wave, and you have direct influence on the height of it. 
 
Right now, the department hosts around 40 employees, and we are expecting a substantial growth in the years to come. You will head a team of more than 10 highly skilled people: Project Managers, Solution design engineers and support functions in Denmark and India. 
 
You develop and implement an ambitious strategy for transport and logistic solutions 
The Senior Manager reports to Director of Global Equipment Engineering, and you will be the main point of contact for customers, suppliers, Operations, engineering and relevant LM departments across functions and regions. The role holds several focus areas as innovation, cost effectiveness, health & safety, quality and integrity, and as we maneuver in a rapidly developing environment, you need to be able to use change management as an integrated part of your leadership. Your key responsibilities include: 
 
  • To establish, maintain and execute a roadmap for transport solutions, in coordination with stakeholders across Sales, Engineering and Operations.   
  • Driving innovation to be ahead of customer requirements and certification standards in a feasible and competitive way. 
  • Communicate and implement solutions and changes across functions globally. 
  • To develop and lead deliveries through execution of projects and business goals through KPI’s, operational and strategical plans, adjusting both plans and deliveries when necessary.   
  • Ownership of project manuals and design specifications related to Transport Solutions. 
  • Documentation of solutions and screening for patents and commercial rights.  
  • Negotiations and settlements with customers and internally.     
 
Demonstrating leadership to motivate and involve a global team

Business acumen combined with technical  and communication skills  
You have a degree in mechanical engineering or similar with proven technical and commercial experience within development and design of solutions relevant to mechanical constructions, large size structures, metal and machining or similar disciplines. You have handled delivery, purchasing and design of transport solutions on land, sea and train, and you have several years of experience in Six Sigma and in leading an organization in the areas of design, engineering or manufacturing of mechanic or structural solutions.  
 
To succeed in this job, you have to thrive with troubleshooting and problem solving with a systematic approach according to internal practices. You will need strong understanding of customer needs, marketplace dynamics and industry trends. You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work through ambiguity to deliver results. You bring international experience and cultural awareness covering Americas, Europe, India and China, and you have an understanding of environmental, international and local requirements, policies and regulations established internally as well as state and local laws, including procedures and duties to import of equipment. You have talent for financial management (business case, budget, cash flows, material and labor cost worldwide, exchange rates, etc.), and for finding cost benefits. Finally, you master English at negotiation level, have diplomatic skills and are able to communicate to a diverse audience at all levels of the organization.
