Can you design and develop subsystems for mobile machinery? Are you an innovative and motivated engineer who thrives on being involved in systems development from concept to launch? If so, Danfoss has an exciting opportunity for you.We are looking for an engineer, who will be joining an extremely talented engineering team that develops subsystems for mobile machinery (e.g. agriculture and construction) utilising components produced by Danfoss Power Solutions. As a member of the team, you will collaborate with system engineering teams in Europe, America and China to create new subsystems that help customers to develop some of the best products in their industry. You will also interact with other areas of the organisation, including marketing, sales, and product development as you help resolve issues. You will work from our head office in Nordborg, Denmark or alternatively from Neumünster in Germany and should expect to travel up to 20 % of your time. Drive vehicle-centric system engineering projects from start to endAs our new Systems Engineer, you will, together with the rest of the team, be responsible for the development of system architecture ideas to meet needs and solve customer pain points.

Your key tasks will be to:

  • Perform computer-based modelling (MatLab/Simulink) of vehicle systems, subsystems, and components
  • Define and develop the most suited/appropriate control strategy and system architecture
  • Apply component behaviour knowledge (e.g. software, pumps, valves, steering, motors) when designing a vehicle system
  • Perform vehicle software development using C, MatLab, or proprietary internal languages (PLUS+1 GUIDE)
  • Analyse vehicle solution concepts from a functional safety and cost perspective
  • Develop project value propositions and document engineering results in white papers, engineering reports, trade magazine articles, and conference papers
  • Establish and maintain strong links to other Danfoss Power Solutions groups locally and globally
  • Stay up-to-date regarding your field of engineering and technology related to Danfoss
  • Promote quality and continuous improvement philosophy 

Engineer with solid system skills and a commercial focus

To be considered for this role, you hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering as a minimum.

You have working knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical systems (including software), and you have some experience in developing, simulating and validating systems for agriculture or construction machinery. We also expect you to have FMEA skills and PDP (stage-gate product development process) and Functional Safety Awareness training. You are a strong trouble-shooter and are able to organise and prioritise your work to complete assignments/tasks on time. You have the ability to apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems, maximising the effective use of appropriate resources. On a more personal note, you are action and goal-oriented, flexible, objective, highly self-motivated and act with a high sense of urgency. You are an excellent communicator in English (verbally and in writing), with an interest in working across organisational lines. Danish and/or German will be an advantage.
