Then you might be the new Global Trade Compliance Specialist we are looking for to join our team in Danfoss Distribution Services. As the Global Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the import and export compliance program in Danfoss. You will be in control of providing valuable expert insights concerning regulatory requirements and obligations of exporting and importing various goods. Moreover, you will also be responsible for direct corrective action as necessary to follow compliance measures. The position will support and contribute to the strategic development and maintenance of the international trade compliance program in accordance with Danfoss’ corporate standards and procedures. You will report directly to the Global Trade Compliance Manager. Preferably the position is located in Rødekro, Denmark, but alternatively the position can also be located in other European offices. However, it will require that you are up for occasional travel to other facilities. Ensuring good business processesYou will play a key role in ensuring that the regulatory requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and managed efficiently. A global trade compliance job demands concentration on global customs regulation frameworks such as harmonized tariff schedules, customs valuations, import VAT rules, export control classification, sanctioned party list and embargo screening, import/export licensing and various other matters.
Your key tasks will be to:
Analytical expert in global import and export processes
You properly hold a Bachelor and/or Master in business or international studies, but more importantly you have solid experience in import and/or export compliance capacity from a global producer of products and services - preferably in the areas such as cooling food, air conditioning, heating buildings, controlling electric motors, compressors, drives or powering mobile machinery. Experience in compliance risk analysis and familiarity with its valuation methodologies is required together with demonstrated expertise in custom issues and issue resolution. We expect that you have excellent knowledge of various global customs regulations and the ability to apply technical knowledge of regulations to business transactions. Familiarity with various global export laws and regulations, including classification, licensing controls and embargoes, is preferred. As a person, you are highly analytical and organized, and willing to accept ownership of projects. You are responsive to deadlines and consistent in producing quality work. You are a good coordinator and used to work in a global and multicultural environment. You work well in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision. Last, but not least you are fluent in both written and spoken English.
