Experienced Structural Engineer wanted with core expertise in concrete design

Your responsibilities as Structural Engineer

Ramboll’s Ports and Geo Structures department has for several years been successfully involved in a string of challenging projects within the ports and marine market as wells as the general transport infrastructure market.

With even more projects in the pipe-line, both in the Nordics and internationally, we are looking to further expand our team with new capable colleagues. The responsibilities will be the following:

  • Design responsible on structural aspect of port and marine concrete structures, such as caisson, pile deck and capping structures design, etc.
  • Geo structural design aspects on the Ramboll transport infrastructure projects within tunnels, rail, bridges and urban underground projects, such as concrete tunnel shafts, bridge pillar foundations, retaining structures, etc.      
  • Act as discipline lead within the field and manage junior engineers
  • Actively pursue technical excellence and growth and actively drive the project delivery process with awareness of budget and time constraints

You and your competences

You have more than 8 years of structural design experience and a background in structural civil engineering design. Furthermore you have the following competences:

  • Confidence in all aspects of concrete design (including shrinkage and temperature) with good understanding of Eurocode
  • Hands on knowledge with several industry-standard FEM software packages (e.g. Lusas, Sofistik, Robot)
  • Good understanding of structural systems and confidence in their translation to idealised static systems
  • Profound insight in soil/structure interaction
  • Desire to take ownership of the tasks
  • High professional standards for the quality of your deliverables
  • Marine experience (would be an advantage)
  • Fluent Danish and English language skills

In addition you are self-motivated, confident and affable with the desire to develop as an individual and build successful working relationships with colleagues and clients.

Join the department for Ports and Geo Structures

You will become part of a highly committed and ambitious group of employees in our department for Ports and Geo Structures in Copenhagen.

The department covers all aspects of geo structures both offshore, near shore and onshore. The ports, marine and coastal projects are hosted in the department. Furthermore we always take part in the organisation and are specialist contributors on the geo structural aspects of the large infrastructure projects hosted in the Transport Division.
