Then you might be our new Global Freight Manager.At Danfoss Distribution Services, we are strengthening the current logistic organisation with focus on delivering world-class transport and logistics solutions. To reach our ambitious goals, we are looking for a Global Freight Manager who is specialised within optimisation of freight solutions and procurement thereof.Global development opportunitiesYour new job will challenge and develop both your project management and procurement skills, where your achievements will heavily rely on your ability to work independently, but also in teams cross-divisionally and cross-culturally. Reporting to the Director of Global Freight Management, you will, together with a team of five people, be responsible for sourcing all Danfoss’ global transportation and 3-PL services. The scope of spend is more than 1 billion DKK per year. As you will be part of a truly global team, you must expect a certain number of travel days, approx. 20-30 days per year. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Initiate, prioritise and manage cross-division logistic and freight projects with focus on improvement and cost-saving activities
  • Implement the logistic strategy together with internal stakeholders and business units
  • Monitor and report on market trends and developments in the logistics and transportation sector
  • Together with Danfoss Procurement, lead negotiations with freight and 3-PL suppliers on selected projects
  • Act both as a project leader and as a project member  
  • Agree on annual project plans and ensure commitment from relevant internal stakeholders
  • Drive complex outsourcing projects on a global scale within warehousing and transportation
  • Follow up with preferred suppliers on KPIs and secure development and optimisation in current agreements 

Experienced negotiator with the ability to develop business relations

You hold a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in economics. More importantly, we expect you to have several years’ of experience related to warehouse/transportation solutions. You may currently be in a consulting role of a larger forwarding company or in a larger manufacturing company. This has provided you with substantial knowledge and experience in negotiating contracts and developing business relationships with suppliers. You have good networking and communication skills, and you speak and write English fluently. You also have project management experience and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office – in particular Excel. On a more personal note, you have strong analytical skills and a good business understanding.
