The role is based at our Head Office in Copenhagen. You will join the global Finance and Accounting Team. This team plans, monitors and controls the finances for 4000 employees and 430 vessels operating all over the world. A lean and flat structure in a performance driven culture gives you significant independence to shape your role and contributions to the performance of our team and our company.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting and Control, the successful candidate will join the Accounting and Control department, a team currently consisting of Group Controllers and Accountants based in Copenhagen and in offshore locations. This team sits within Svitzer Group Finance, comprising a total of ten specialized finance professionals with various backgrounds, ensuring a dynamic and challenging work environment.
The role doesn’t require regular travel, expect a maximum of 10 days per year.
As Accountant, you will be working closely with colleagues in the Svitzer Head office, the Maersk Group as well as in our Regions and Divisions in order to succeed in the following responsibilities:
• Handle bookkeeping and tax accounting for Danish entities in full compliance with statutory and Group requirements;
• Oversee and provide guidance to our offshore accountants;
• Coordinate and administrate rolling forecast processes for head office;
• Handle month, quarter and year-end tasks and reporting;
• Prepare statutory accounts for assigned companies;
• Communicate with external and internal auditors;
• Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures.
You have a relevant Master Degree in Accounting and come with 3-5 years of professional experience from a similar position, covering all finance processes. In addition, you are an experienced user of MS Office and understanding of Navision and Basware is a plus.
The successful candidate is an energetic finance professional who enjoy working in a busy international environment. You have good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills and enjoy taking ownership and responsibility. As you will be working with external parties in Denmark and our working language is English you must be fluent in both Danish and English.
