Maersk Oil offers you a unique opportunity to join an international and multinational organization with over 30 different nationalities at the office in Esbjerg. Therefore, you will be able to engage, share knowledge, gain cultural intelligence and be part of a cross-collaborative synergistic team. This would be essential for you in relationship-building, negotiation and liaison with multiple internal / external stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to develop into the Danish Business Unit’s focal point for late-life reservoir management strategy considerations and moreover, get broad exposure to reservoir management, depletion strategy and infrastructure for a complex of 4 fields and 80 wells. You will also take part of the lifecycle economic evaluation of alternate strategies.

Key Responsibilities

You will become a member of a performance driven subsurface department and will be accountable for the decision making in framing and developing realistic late-life subsurface depletion strategies for Gorm and satellites. Also, you are the one to influence decision drivers /metrics defining transition from current operating strategy to later life operations.

This calls for a person who is able to cross boundaries between disciplines and cultures, with the following key responsibilities and tasks:
• Establish relative maturity of current development and understand current operating and reservoir management strategies for each of the Gorm area fields;
• Develop alternate later-life reservoir depletion strategies in conjunction with subsurface, facilities and operations functions (e.g. cessation of water injection, full-field blowdown, well shut-in decisions);
• Identify and justify data acquisition requirements required to inform alternate reservoir depletion strategies;
• Develop representative forecasts describing alternate later-life depletion strategies, subject to relevant system, topsides and other operating constraints;
• Understand and aggregate existing forecasts into the “bigger picture” at hub level
• Investigate analogues and/or other industry experiences of mature to late-life transition for other fields, describe and apply these into assessment of later -life strategies for Gorm and its satellites;
• Provide subsurface support to well integrity assessment and well intervention planning as required.
• Liaison with well management team to ensure shared understanding of well potential, well integrity and workover strategy influencing well stock availability for later life depletion strategies;
• Develop deliverables and performance metrics in collaboration with team leader; and
• Support asset Integrated Activity Planning by articulating the implications of alternate depletion strategies on longer term asset integrated planning and Business Plan.

Who we are looking for

It is important you address the job with a strong understanding of the Business and People. Moreover, the position calls for a result-oriented and analytical person regarding reservoir management strategies, but also excellent interpersonal and communicative skills are essential in combining a holistic business view with the alternate later-life depletion strategies initiatives. This position calls for an open minded person in being able to interface widely in order to build relationships with people throughout the organization.

Your other qualifications include;

• Minimum of 12+ years of reservoir and petroleum engineering
• Previous experience on assets with mature water floods, preferably as Operator
• Ability to engage with and build external relationships with venture partners and other stakeholders
• Prior exposure to Chalk Reservoirs can be of advantage
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
