Develop and implement new microbial solutions and technologies
Your overall focus will be to develop and implement new microbial solutions and technologies in the global wine industry. You will especially focus on the last step of R&D – prototype testing in close dialogue with customers all over the world. You will use the feedback and knowledge gained from this work to feed ideas into our innovation pipeline – deliver specifications and technical input to R&D on what the products must be able to do.

You will be based at Chr. Hansen headquarters in Hørsholm approx. 30 minutes drive north of Copenhagen city center. As you will work closely together with wine makers globally, you can look forward to travel 60-90 days per year.
Outgoing personality with microbial knowledge and project management experience
You have a scientific degree at minimum master’s level within microbiology, biotechnology, fermentation, food science or similar. If you have experience from the wine, brewing or related industries it will be a great advantage but not a prerequisite for applying. The same goes for publishing in scientific journals and having contributed to submitting patents. Regardless of your background you must bring experience within project management and be able to combine your academic background with a commercial perspective. Additionally, you have a creative mind and ability to solve technical problems. Your success will to a great extent be based on your ability to engage in constructive and fruitful dialogues with all kinds of people with very different backgrounds, culturally and professionally – spanning highly educated scientists at top universities to cellar workers at wineries. This takes an outgoing personality backed by strong communication skills and an open minded and curious approach towards others. You must be very good at English, and if you also master one or more of the languages in the major wine regions of the world, French, Italian or Spanish, it would be a great advantage.
